Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has authorized the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to receive Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) applications, including Study and Temporary Work Permits in Senegal on behalf of the regional Visa Office of the Embassy of Canada in Dakar, Senegal.

IOM is also authorized to assist permanent residents of Canada who do not have a valid permanent resident card to return to Canada and wish to apply for a Permanent Resident Abroad Travel Document.

Services

The IOM Canadian Visa Application Centres serve the growing number of residents in West Africa wanting to visit Canada for reasons such as business, to spend time with family and friends or to pursue studies.

The IOM centres provide local language services, with more accessible service points and extended service hours for applicants.

IOM staff have been well-trained by Canadian Visa Officers on how to properly prepare Canadian Temporary Residence Visa (TRV) applications and applications for a Permanent Resident Abroad Travel Document, according to CIC guidelines.

IOM staff will verify that application forms have been properly completed and signed, that all required supporting documentation is included and in the required order, are properly labelled and tracked, and that the correct fees have been paid. By ensuring accuracy and avoiding omissions, IOM’s assistance aims to help applicants avoid unnecessary delays or refusals due to incomplete applications and, ultimately, to reduce visa processing times.

To assist applicants, IOM staff also facilitate the forwarding of passports and applications and the return of passports and visa or travel document decisions, to and from the regional visa decision-making Authority at the Embassy of Canada in Dakar, Senegal.
